Came back from Accra, Ghana last week. I had a slightly wild final day in the city, on my own, galavanting about the place and getting into scrapes. Had a pretty intense taxi ride too.
As you may have gathered, we were talking about the Ghana elections, coming up in two days on December 7th (check out 1m55s for the full-on part).
Election fever is spreading and everyone is willing to talk about it. Not everyone is as convinced, of course, as my taxi driver that Nana Akufo-Addo is the Ghanaian Obama.
The #ghanadecides hashtag is a good way to follow what's going on via Twitter, and be sure to check out the Ghana Decides site for updates on polling, voting, counting and the latest declarations by the candidates.
Edit: Probably worth mentioning that Akufo-Addo's politics are not particularly Obama-like. His NPP party are centre-right, and can, as this tweet said, be likened more to the Republicans. Also worth saying, I don't have a horse in this race. Not endorsing anyone!
